“Red Oaks Primary School is an inclusive, welcoming place to learn.” (Ofsted Report, 2024)
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at Red Oaks Primary School. As a school, we want to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our children and are developing an internal alternative provision (IAP) to improve the life chances of our most vulnerable children.
This new, hands-on role will see the successful candidate work closely with the SENDCO and class teachers to:
• Launch and manage our IAP
• Embed interventions alongside curriculum work to address barriers to learning
• Support the SENDCO in delivering a nurturing environment and a bespoke curriculum
• Work closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, SENDCO, and Pastoral Lead to ensure high-quality provision and safeguarding.
Key responsibilities of the role, alongside being a TA are:
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the provision, ensuring it operates as a calm, safe, and purposeful hub
• With the support of the SENDCO, plan and deliver tailored learning activities aligned with pupils’ individual needs and the school curriculum
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of needs (e.g. SEMH, SEND, trauma-informed practice).
• Ensure high expectations for behaviour, engagement and participation
• Provide regular updates to the SENCo and leadership team.
• Contribute to review meetings and reports for parents/carers and professionals
• Monitor and evaluate the success of the IAP
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and well-organised provision space.
• Prepare and manage resources to support personalised learning.
• Ensure the provision reflects a nurturing, trauma-informed approach
We can offer:
• Opportunities for collaboration within both the Trust and the Local area and nationally;
• Motivated and hard-working children;
• A School which is ambitious and aspirational for all;
• Working with the Trust Director for Inclusion, the other SENDCo's and Complex Needs Provisions leadership team both in the primary and secondary phase;
• Support from the Trust Therapeutic Alternative provision
• Support through supervision
Visits to the school are welcomed and will allow you to fully appreciate the rich opportunity offered.
