The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit a 1-1 Learning Support Assistant to work at Priory Community School – An Academy in Weston-super-Mare, starting 8 March 2021. This role will suit a candidate who has a passion for SEND with preferable experience supporting deaf students. The successful candidate will be supporting 1:1 with a student. This is a very exciting opportunity to join our fantastic highly skilled and caring team. This role is fixed-term subject to funding, until 31 August 2022. This role is 30 hours per week.

What you will do:

• Support and contribute to the inclusion of a student with additional educational needs

• Deliver classroom support for a specific pupil planned with and supervised by teacher

• Provide appropriate level of support needed by the pupil to promote independent learning. Work with teachers and teams to differentiate materials and delivery using AFL & National Strategy support materials

• Contribute to the planning, monitoring and assessment cycle for age range/s. Contributes to Student Profiles & PSPs

About you:

• GCSE Grade A* - C (or equivalent) in English and Maths

• Experience working as a LSA in a Secondary school

• Demonstrate a positive attitude

• Excellent and effective communication skills

• Preferred experience of working with deaf students
