The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit a Pastoral Assistant to work at Priory Community School – An Academy in Weston-super-Mare. The candidate will be required have strong attention to detail. This is a very exciting opportunity to join our fantastic Academy, supporting our highly skilled Heads of Year.

This is a full time, fixed term position from 1 September 2021, for one academic year (until 31 August 2022). The role will be term time only.

What you will do:

• Assist the Heads of Year in the provision of pastoral and academic support to students in year groups to ensure they achieve to their full potential

• Liaise, communicate and respond with parents or carers through telephone calls, emails and letters or meetings as directed by the Head of Year

• Ensure that students follow the rules of the school – particularly with regard to school uniform and the behaviour policy

• Support teachers and other staff, visit lessons, meet students, carry out duties in order to ensure that good learning takes place

About you:

• Good level of education. 5 GCSEs, Grade A* - C or equivalent

• A minimum of two years’ experience working with children 11-16 years

• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets

• Good communicator, used to working with adults and children
