The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit a Preschool Manager to work at our Priory preschool in Weston-super-Mare. We are looking for a number of fantastic, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join us at a really exciting point in the year as our numbers increase. We believe in educating the whole child and are passionate about creating quality learning environments for all. If successful, you will join a dedicated and cohesive team, who are working hard to create fabulous learning and developmental opportunities for our children. The aims and ambitions of the preschool over the next few years are really exciting and we will require pro-active, problem solving team players to cheerfully get involved to continue the work already being carried out to enhance our successful nursery for the youngest members of The Priory Learning Trust community.

This role will be working 37 hours per week, term time only. This is a permanent position.

What you will do:

• Lead in the planning and delivery of activities, monitoring, evaluation and care for children, ensuring that the children's learning and developmental needs are met, and that the Preschool provides a warm, welcoming and supportive environment to the children and their families.

• Take responsibility for the preparation of the Preschool for OFSTED inspections and for undertaking any post inspection action.

• To lead the team in carrying out initial assessments of each child’s individual needs and ensuring this is fed back to parents in an understanding way.

• Manage the employment, deployment and dismissal of all Preschool staff. Ensuring that all legal required staffing standards, ratios and qualifications are maintained at all times. Make suitable arrangements for the cover of absent staff.

About you:

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in direct work with children in a Care, Early Years or Play setting as a lead practitioner

• Ability to lead a team

• Effective communication and organisational skills.
