Teacher of Science

MPS/UPS

Date: September 2024

Ofsted Report October 2023 - What our students said about us: “Because teachers really care about us, we really care about them,”.

Do you want to work in a vibrant, rural, 11-18 school, which is in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, on the edge of the thriving market town of Banbury? The Warriner School has an excellent academic reputation, both locally and more widely, and we are very proud to be an integral part of the community that we serve. Staff have high expectations for all students and work enthusiastically to continue raising attainment and achievement.

We want to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Science to join our thriving and successful team. The Science department is focused on providing a broad, balanced, rich, and challenging education for all students alongside raising standards in both attainment and progress. Science is a vital part of the newly created Mathematical and Physical Science Faculty and spans all three Key Stages. A Physical science specialist would be an advantage, as would the ability and willingness to teach your specialism to A level. This post will appeal to both experienced teachers of Science and those starting out in their career.

What we are looking for:

  • An outstanding practitioner who leads by example, with the ability to listen and self-reflect
  • A commitment to high quality, best practice teaching and learning
  • A commitment to Continuous Professional Development
  • A committed team player who understands the importance of strong working relationships
  • An outstanding communicator with all stakeholders
  • A highly organised teacher, with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines

What we offer:

  • A school with a clear moral purpose and drive for ‘excellence for all our students’
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression and development opportunities, including support in teaching your specialism to A level if you have not done this previously
  • A clear staff well-being strategy and commitment to its core values

Closing Date: Friday 22nd March at 1pm

Interviews: Wednesday 27th March

We may interview and appoint suitable candidates before the stated closing date
