The Wellington Academy opened in 2009 to serve Tidworth. Ludgershall and the surrounding area: an area with a significant military presence. Consequently, we are proud to educate a large number of children from service families and with the growing super-garrison based on Salisbury plain we expect our numbers to continue to rise.
The Wellington Academy joined the Royal Wootton Bassett Academy Trust on 1st April 2020 and are following their approach to teaching which has seen them gain an outstanding rating by Ofsted. Our curriculum breadth is focused on ensuring every pupil is exposed to the widest range of subjects possible to equip them to leave school ready to achieve their dreams and fulfil their goals. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Head of Year, any subject will be considered but an ability to Business, ICT or Design Technology would be an advantage. You will help support the Pastoral and Senior Leadership Team in developing young people to contribute to society in every way, raising levels of achievement and standards of behavior across the Year group by promoting a strong sense of positive identity within year and house groups.
