Thomas Deacon Academy is the largest Academy in England. It opened in 2007 in a £51m purpose-built building. Thomas Deacon Academy is an all-abilities school of 2,200 students and 352 staff, specialising in Science and Mathematics. In September 2014 we opened our Junior College welcoming three Year 3 classes which will grow year on year until the school has a total of 12 classes by the start of the 2017/18 academic year.

Rail travel is equally as convenient with the East Coast Line direct to London in 50 mins and a direct connection to Stansted Airport in 80 mins. Direct rail travel can be made from Peterborough to York, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Liverpool Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham Leicester, Derby, Lincoln, Norwich, Ipswich and Cambridge. Peterborough also benefits from excellent coach travel as a Hub for National Express from the Queensgate Bus Station. Travel back 3,500 years to discover what life was like for our prehistoric ancestors at the finest Bronze Age archaeological site in Northern Europe. Queensgate is an undercover, self contained shopping centre that is conveniently located in the city centre. With over 90 shops, 15 cafes and restaurants and parking for over 2000 visitors the shopping centre has everything you could need under one roof. Outside of Queensgate, leading off from Cathedral Square there is a large variety of high street stores and a choice of supermarkets, such as Tesco, Asda and Waitrose.
