Contract: Part Time, 12 months fixed term contract initially (with the potential to become permanent upon review of student needs)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:15-15:15/ 45 weeks per year (term time plus 1 week)

Salary: Actual £13,024.16 per annum (FTE £17,134.00 per annum)

The Role

Thomas Deacon Academy is looking to recruit a Student Support Worker to join their passionate and enthusiastic Wellbeing Team at Thomas Deacon Academy. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to assist and work under the direction of the class teacher/SEND Coordinator. They will be able to provide specialist learning support and aid the learning of pupils through clarifying and explaining instructions, ensuring the use of equipment and materials and to provide continuous encouragement and motivation.

Knowledge of the local and national learning strategies to enhance literacy and numeracy is also key to this role along with the ability to effectively manage pupil behaviour in line with Academy policies.
