Job Requirements:
Owls after School Club, located in and part of Thorpe C of E Primary School, is looking for an enthusiastic, creative Play Leader to join our term time team.
This role commences as soon as possible – Term Time only, 12.5 hrs per week, 38 weeks per year:
Monday to Friday 3pm – 5.30 pm
Pay: FTE £21,269 pro rata £6,126.94
Responsibilities:
• Actively and enthusiastically assist the Manager in the safe and organised running of the club including setting up and maintaining interesting and engaging play areas.
• Enable children to explore, grow and have fun!
• Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of food.
• Communicate effectively with other team members, children and their families.
• Maintain confidentiality and treat with sensitivity any additional needs the children may have.
• Undertake any appropriate or relevant training e.g. First Aid, Food Hygiene.
• Be aware of Health and Safety procedures and maintain a healthy and safe environment for the children including the reporting of any hazards.
• Have knowledge of and work within the club’s policies.
• Undertake any duties as required to enable the smooth running of the club.
• Ensure that behaviour management strategies are consistent with those of the organisation.
Skills required:
• An approachable, fun and enthusiastic demeanour.
• A passion for working with children.
• The ability to engage with and motivate others.
• Excellent communication skills with good understanding and use of English.
• Experience of working in this type of setting would be an advantage.
Successful applicants must be able to support the distinctive Christian ethos of our school but do not have to be a practising Christian.
Owls after School Club, situated at and part of Thorpe Church of England (Aided) Primary School, is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
