TEACHING ASSISTANT Level 3

School: St Peter’s Primary School

Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026

Contract: 32.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8.30am-3.30pm), 

Maternity Cover - Fixed Term 12 months, Term Time Only

Salary: Grade Scale TC05 (Scale point 6-11)

St. Peter’s Primary wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification who will support all key stages and contribute to classroom practice. We would like to hear from you if: -

It is expected the successful applicant will have:

• An enthusiastic, conscientious, creative and organised Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

• Experience of working with children.

• Experience working in a school setting.

• Relevant qualifications 

• Flexibility, resilience and the ability to work as a team under the direction of others.

• A commitment to creating an exceptionally positive environment for pupils

• A strong commitment to achievement, safeguarding and welfare of all children

• Excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils.

• Work closely with classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

• Support pupils' social and emotional development, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
