Bredenbury Primary School is part of the Three Counties Academy Trust (TCAT), which also includes Queen Elizabeth High School and four local primary schools.

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant (SEN Level 1) to support, under the direction of the Headteacher and designated teachers, the education and welfare of a pupil with special educational needs. There may also be opportunities to support other pupils where appropriate.
You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning and developmental programmes, supporting both the academic and emotional needs of pupils. The role involves contributing to planning, monitoring progress, adapting resources and helping pupils access the curriculum fully.
You will play an important part in promoting independence, self-esteem and inclusion, ensuring that pupils feel safe, supported and able to thrive within the life of the school.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of working with children, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Experience of supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour
- Experience of supporting pupils with an EHCP (desirable)
- A good level of general education
- A qualification in learning support (desirable)
- Ability to work flexibly and use initiative when adapting teacher-directed tasks
- A calm but authoritative manner with pupils
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to relate well to pupils, parents and staff
- Ability to monitor, record and report on pupil progress accurately
- Commitment to supporting the inclusive ethos of the school
