Chief Operating Officer
The Mead Educational Trust
Leicester (+ flexible working arrangements)
£80,000-£115,000
Make a positive difference – every day
The Mead Educational Trust is an energetic and dynamic family of 13 primary and secondary schools in and around Leicester. As a family of schools, we leverage our collective strengths in order to make a positive difference to the life chances of children and young people and to our wider community.
At the heart of all we do is a commitment to provide our pupils access to a world-class education, our schools with excellent school-to-school support, and our staff with high quality professional development.
As our first Chief Operating Officer, you will join a high performing, agile organisation with a secure financial foundation and genuine appetite for further development and growth.
As this is a new role, you will have the opportunity to make a material impact on TMET’s success, as you work closely with the CEO and the other directors. You will be part of the Executive Team that sets the Trust’s strategic objectives and ensures we deliver on them. You will also work closely with TMET’s skilled and longstanding Chief Finance Officer who will continue to hold responsibility for financial accounting to the DfE and oversee detailed budgeting.
As COO you will bring strong financial acumen. Your financial priority will be to develop the overall strategy for achieving best value for money and income generation. As with most multi-academy trusts, the vast majority of our income comes from per-pupil funding from the DfE; therefore, key to this role is ensuring that our schools remain first choice for parents in their local area so that they are full to capacity.
We are looking for a creative, energetic and innovative individual who will bring new ideas and challenge us to do things differently; an entrepreneurial leader who will be an ambassador and an advocate for our Trust in the wider business community in Leicester and beyond.
Whether you have developed your career in education or another field, you will be strategic thinker who can work with the Board, leaders, and peers; and who can facilitate and articulate a compelling vision for the Trust - underpinned by a strong moral purpose.
If you are looking for a truly special and career defining role, then please download the recruitment sheet for more information and details on how to apply.
Closing date: 4pm Friday 3rd February 2023
Interviews: This will be a two-stage interview process with interviews taking place w/c 13th February 2023
