We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable Senior Science Technician to provide curriculum support within our successful science team. You will work closely with the Head of Department to support teaching and learning by ensuring equipment and resources are prepared and in good working order to facilitate effective lessons on a daily basis. You will organise, deliver and develop technical services for the Science department in order to support the teaching of our exciting Science curriculum. The ideal candidate will be someone who is forward thinking with an energy and enthusiasm for providing our students with the best possible learning experience.
Kibworth Mead Academy, located in the pretty Leicestershire village of Kibworth Beauchamp, is one of five secondary schools in The Mead Educational Trust (TMET). The Mead Educational Trust is an energetic and dynamic family of 13 primary and secondary schools in and around Leicester. As a family of schools, we use our collective strength and talents in order to make a positive difference to our children, young people and communities. Every person who works for TMET has a role in helping our children succeed, from caretakers to teaching assistants to IT professionals.
At the heart of all we do is a commitment to provide our children with access to a world-class education, our schools with excellent school-to-school support, and our staff with high quality professional development. Our people really are our greatest asset, and we are always looking for ways to help them develop and grow their careers. We have a brilliant team of staff who support and encourage each other, within and across our schools and central Trust.
Our aim at Kibworth Mead is that all students receive the opportunities to be successful, confident and responsible young people equipped with academic qualifications as well as the personal and social skills to enable them to make a positive difference to their community and the wider world.
It is an exciting time to join the Kibworth Science team. Science has a new fully resourced curriculum in place since August 2022, developed in partnership with other science teams within the TMET family of schools. We have invested heavily in new practical equipment to enhance the student experience. In addition, TMET is investing over £1.1 million on a refurbishment programme, to include 4 science labs which will be refurbished over summer 2023. The Science team includes one other technician, and Science teams across the Trust work collaboratively, so the successful candidate would be fully supported in their role.
