Dear Candidate,
Thank you for your interest in the position of Assistant Headteacher (ALNCo) at Cwmbran High School.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, dedicated and inspirational leader, from either the secondary or primary sector, who can demonstrate ambition, drive and motivation, and who is an outstanding practitioner in every sense.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to secure accelerated progress across key areas of school improvement, with a particular focus on Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
We are looking for a strong, reflective and resilient individual who will integrate seamlessly into our team and play a pivotal role in our continued journey of improvement.
Our school is at an exciting and significant stage of its development. We are keen to appoint an exceptional individual with high expectations, relevant experience and a firm commitment to raising standards in teaching, learning and skills, while meeting the individual needs of all learners with ALN.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and ambitious school community that is working together towards a successful future.
We have high aspirations for all members of our community.
Our aim is to provide consistently high-quality learning and teaching experiences for every pupil, within a culture where both staff and pupil wellbeing are paramount. We are proud of our motto: “Strive, Believe, Achieve”, which underpins everything we do.
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils thrive as individuals from our most vulnerable learners to those who are more able and talented. We recognise that to achieve their full potential, learning must be personalised and responsive to individual needs. We also believe that education extends beyond academic success, encompassing the development of the whole child, including their personal growth and wellbeing.
We strive to be a school where learning is valued, and where pupils achieve their potential within a safe, happy and inclusive environment built on respect and tolerance.
As an inclusive school, we value every member of our community. We expect the very best from all, whether pupils excel academically, in sport, the arts, or require additional support. We are committed to providing each learner with the best possible educational journey, enabling them to become confident, skilled, lifelong learners who are socially aware, healthy and active citizens.
Professional development for staff is central to our improvement journey, and this role will play a key part in leading and shaping that provision. We are committed to investing significantly in high-quality professional learning, offering tailored support to meet individual needs.
This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate. If you have the energy, vision and expertise to help lead the school through the next phase of its development and to help shape a culture of excellence, we would be delighted to hear from you.
