Senior Caretaker

St Alban’s RC High School is seeking to appoint a hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person to work as a Senior Caretaker.

To ensure that the establishment is opened and closed at the designated times, in the approved conditions for occupancy and all other associated duties (see Job Description).

Hours of Work

The working week is 37 hours – 7:00am until 3:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 2:30pm Friday. This will be a full-time post, 52 weeks per year with an annual holiday entitlement.

Variations to the contracted times may be necessary on certain occasions when meetings, building work, functions etc. are held at the school. You may be required to cover sickness absence on occasion. Any variation will be notified in advance by the Business Manager, additional planned hours are paid at the same hourly rate.

School events take place throughout the academic year and therefore it will be essential that you can offer a flexible working pattern.

You will act as key holder for the school and be in a position to respond promptly in the event of alarm activation, if required.

The duties and responsibilities are difficult to define in detail and may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or level of responsibilities entailed. The post holder is therefore expected to undertake such other reasonable duties as may be requested.
