ESF Curriculum Area Lead - Engineering (Truro)
£35,780 - £38,356 per annum
Fixed term until 31 August 2023

Truro and Penwith College is the only Cornish College member of the South West Institute of Technology and in September 2021 the College will open a new building with state of the art facilities in Engineering and Computing/Digital on the Truro Campus. This will be replicated with an additional facility in Bodmin due to open in March 2022.

Engineering is a priority area for local higher-level skills, with clear synergy to Cornwall’s rapidly developing renewables, manufacturing, and space sector, with the first launch by Virgin Orbit planned for Spring 2022.

Successful applicants will be expected to engage with employers to design and assist in the delivery of a range of higher education, higher level apprenticeships and industry-relevant continuing professional development programmes.

Successful candidates are expected to have a higher-level degree in engineering related field and ideally, research and teaching experience within a higher education institution. Coaching, CPD and a higher education teaching qualification can be provided for candidates new to research and teaching.

This is a fixed term role, but it is hoped that the provision created will lead to permanent opportunities. Previous applicants will be carried forward.

This post is part-funded by the European Social Fund.

We offer a generous package with benefits including 40 days annual leave plus bank holidays and College closure days, teacher pension scheme, relocation package, free on-site parking and a variety of on-site benefits and discounts.

CLOSING DATE: 12 NOON, THURSDAY 21 OCTOBER 2021
Curriculum Vitae are not accepted, Application Forms only.
Successful candidates will be notified within 4 weeks of the closing date.
