Lecturer in Surveying (Truro)
£25,323 - £37,604 per annum / pro rata

Are you an expert in Surveying? Are you a qualified teacher or looking to become one? If yes, then we’re looking for you…

We are one of the highest performing colleges nationally on all courses at all levels, rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ and a TEF Gold provider. Our current Construction provision consists of full time courses and apprenticeships from entry level to advanced in the majority of trade areas including: Painting and Decorating, Maintenance Operations, Bricklaying, Plastering, Architectural Joinery & Site Carpentry.

The successful candidate will potentially be teaching and assessing on the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning. We are looking to expand our provision in Construction therefore an interest in promoting new courses and expanding existing provision would be advantageous.

We are seeking to appoint experienced, qualified tradespeople who are lively and enthusiastic, who can contribute significantly to the programme area. Applicants should have at least 5 years' relevant industrial experience in Surveying at supervisory or management level and a degree in Surveying or equivalent with the ability to operate Total Stations. The ability to communicate effectively with adults and young people is essential. Experience of teaching at National and Higher National level is desirable. Possession of (or willingness to achieve) a Certificate in Education will be essential. The individual appointed will also act as tutors to groups of students and will share responsibility for course development, management and review in the area.

If you are not a qualified teacher already this should not deter you from applying. For example, if you are an experienced industry professional, looking for a career change, then funding may be available to support teacher training. The Taking Teacher Further Funding from the Education and training Foundation can provide eligible applicants in their first year of teaching with a reduced timetable, intensive support such as work shadowing and mentoring along with a contribution towards the Teaching Qualification fees.

Interviews will take place as and when we receive suitable applications, so this role may close sooner than advertised.

We offer a generous package with benefits including 40 days annual leave plus bank holidays and College closure days, teacher pension scheme, relocation package, free on-site parking and a variety of on-site benefits and discounts.

CLOSING DATE: 12 NOON, FRIDAY 29 OCTOBER 2021.
Curriculum Vitae are not accepted, Application Forms only.
Successful candidates will be notified within 4 weeks of the closing date.
