The Directors of Uffculme Academy Trust are delighted to be in a position to recruit a Director of SEND to oversee the provision of SEND across our 5 academies. Each school has its own well qualified and experienced SENDCo but we would also benefit from the expertise of an experienced colleague from whom they could seek professional advice and guidance. You will have an excellent knowledge of the code of practice and understand how scarce resources can be deployed effectively to best support our most vulnerable children.

The position will be part time, 3 days a week (0.6 FTE) actual days and times to be agreed at the time of appointment.

We are looking for a well-informed, experienced leader who has an excellent track record of providing outstanding support for children and young people in primary and/or secondary schools. You will have been part of, or worked closely with senior leadership teams and may also have provided line management for a SENDCo. We are particularly interested in hearing from colleagues who have expertise in supporting children with SEMH and who can provide considered and objective advice regarding the graduated response for children at risk of exclusion.

For an informal chat about this post, please contact the CEO, Lorraine Heath at Uffculme Academy Trust.

To apply, please read the recruitment pack, complete the application form and provide a two sided supporting letter outlining your skills, experience and suitability for the post.

Closing date: 12 noon Monday 5th July 2021
