Overview

Who are we?
We are a 3 form entry Infant School with 270 Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children and a 78 place Nursery.  We are now very proud to be officially recognised as an "outstanding" school following our last inspection in 2019. Our expectations of everyone are high and we rise to that challenge every day.

Come and join us at an exciting time of change. We have always been determined to achieve excellence for all our community, but on 1st May 2016 we become part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust. This will bring even more professional development opportunities and scope for learning and teaching beyond Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

Do you want to really make a difference? If you do, we want you! If you are interested in developing your ideas to support really good learning - we want you! If you are an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher who loves learning - we want you!

What about the children?
Our aim is for every child to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to lead confident, healthy and independent lives. We pride ourselves on the behaviour of our children and that they enjoy coming to school. We encourage and support every child to reach their potential and do this by developing confident, independent learners with our strong learning to learn culture; meet our Learning Heroes on our website.

How do we see our community?
We have a great sense of community. We work hard at ensuring our communication with parents/carers and the whole community is of a high standard and this enables us to be an approachable school that cares.  We want to make a difference for everyone.

Safety is of the highest priority

Parents send their children to school each day with the expectation that our school provides a secure environment in which their children can flourish. We ensure that this expectation becomes reality. In order to do this we create a culture where everyone is vigilant about safeguarding children and that the whole school community knows the policies and procedures to follow in order to keep our children safe from all forms of harm.

Part of Greenshaw Learning Trust

Victor Seymour Infants'  School is very happy to be part of the Greenshaw family.

Martin Rowlands, Chair of Goveners at Victor Seymour Infants' School said, "We believe Victor Seymour has a lot to offer the trust and will also benefit from collabarative working by becoming an academy in partnership with the Greenshaw family of schools.

The Greenshaw Learning Trust is a charitable company, limited by guarantee, with the sole purpose of maintaining and developing academy schools to provide comprehensive and inclusive education for the public benefit. Its schools are publicly funded by the Department for Education.

The Trust was established in June 2011 by the Governing Body of Greenshaw High School when the school  became an academy. In October 2014 it was reconstituted as a multi academy trust under the name 'Greenshaw Learning Trust'.
