“Oriel High School is a mainstream secondary school which provides an exciting and engaging curriculum which aims to meet the individual needs of each of our students enabling them to achieve their own unique potential.”

To further support this vision, we are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to work with year 7 to 11 students in our Specialist Support Centre. The majority of the teaching will be with the students in the SSC but also with other students on a small group basis. There will be an element of standardised assessment.

The SSC is currently designated for Additional Learning Needs and the students who form part of the SSC groups have Specific Learning Difficulties and/or Speech, Language and Communication as their primary need. Experience in the teaching of these areas is essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact on the attainment and aspiration levels of students.

This role will suit applicants looking for a short-term opportunity to work with small groups of students.

Applications are invited from candidates who have:

• Previous experience in working with students with these needs

• The ability to encourage students to become independent;

• The ability to draw out the best in students;

• A genuine commitment to the education of young people.

• Enthusiasm and a desire to learn
