Walton Leigh is a secondary special school for students with severe and profound & multiple learning difficulties. We are looking for someone enthusiastic and happy to help support the students (aged 11-19) with their learning, behaviour and life skills as well as providing physical and personal care where needed. 

We have a great school full of happy students and our ideal Teaching Assistant will have plenty of energy and a willingness to learn.  We require a person who has lots of energy and enthusiasm to support the educational and care needs of the special students attending our school.

We require people who would have the flexibility to work school term time on an ad-hoc basis, when cover is required in the school. You will support the educational and care needs of the special students, working alongside the existing school staff at Walton Leigh School.

The role would suit those with school experience, graduates or those who have spare time looking for additional hours in a rewarding and happy environment. 

We are looking for people who:

  • Can form effective relationships with young people and enjoy working with them. 
  • Have a commitment to working as part of a team to support the development and potential of students of all abilities. 
  • Can motivate and inspire pupils to learn. 
  • Have excellent communication skills. 
  • Are calm and can maintain a sense of humour under pressure. 
  • Are competent in ICT. 

     

    Salary Surrey S3 :  FTE £23,576 

    Contract: Zero Hours – hours offered as and when the school requires cover
