Grade 6 – Salary starting from £32,061 to £34,434 FTE

32.5 HOURS PER WEEK – 40 WEEKS PER YEAR

Pro-rata - £24,928 to £26,773

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and thrive both personally and academically? West Gate School is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team our existing team. This role is pivotal in helping pupils—particularly those with challenging behaviours and dysregulation fulfil their potential.

The successful candidate will work across the school:

• Supporting pupils to make positive choices and overcome barriers to learning

• Working closely in classes with teaching staff, and external agencies to support positive pupil behaviour

• Developing tailored strategies with class staff to support pupil behaviour and dysregulation

• Providing emotional and physical support, including basic first aid to pupils

• Delivering Team Teach training as one of our tutors

• Undertaking the responsibilities of a level 3 TA covering in the absence of a teacher when appropriate

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they have:

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills

• Experience working with children in a supportive role

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently

• The motivation to share their extensive knowledge of behaviour management and communication strategies to support pupils across the school and be willing to continue growing their expertise through research and CPD

• A commitment to equality and diversity

• Experience delivering high quality whole school behaviour and/or Team Teach training

• A minimum of one years’ experience as a level 3 TA

• Hold a relevant level 3 qualification and A*to C or grade 4 and above in GCSE English (or level 2 equivalent)
