  • Do you want to work in a school that extends the learning offer beyond the classroom and that offers a holistic approach to supporting student’s needs?
  • Would you like to work for an employer who believes that employee training and development is a key element in a successful school?

West Heath School is a challenging place to work, but our dedicated staff rebuild lives through education. As part of the team, teaching respect, encouraging responsibility, building relationships, and developing resilience in our students, our committed, dynamic, resourceful staff find the work rewarding. All our learners have EHCPs, and we work towards the end goal of helping students re-integrate into mainstream learning and preparation for adulthood.

If you would like to be part of our journey to support students’ lives, we are looking for a Vocational Teacher to join our team as part of our Ofsted rated outstanding provision.

As part of the Outdoor Learning Department, you will be working holistically within the school to support those students who require access to a non-traditional curriculum. This may include project-based learning and promoting life skills, which will help our students to build resilience in tackling tasks or activities. The aim is to encourage students to develop transferable skills so that they can feel more confident in their own ability and have a taste of success and positivity.

The ideal candidate would have a relevant vocational qualification and experience supporting or teaching a vocational subject, such as ASDAN and /or Prince's Trust, in a SEND provision.
