About the role:

The Head of Teaching, Learning and Compliance will be a key member, reporting directly to the Vice Principal, working closely with other members of the Senior Management Team. The main role is to monitor, evaluate and develop the curriculum, the teaching, and the assessment practices across the whole college.

We’re looking for a Head of Teaching, Learning and Compliance to:

• Identify and develop actions to help the improvement of teaching and learning, alongside appropriate managers, and teams.

• Develop and implement a strategy for high-quality programmes that support the improvement of teaching, learning and assessment.

• Support practitioners and middle managers in designing and delivering curriculum that delivers good and outstanding learner outcomes.

• Ensure high quality delivery of programmes, contributing to governance, quality assurance and continuous quality improvement processes.

• Monitor the outcomes from the College’s quality assurance systems.

There is also a responsibility for the development and implementation of an effective staff development programme including leading the teaching and learning coaches to support this and the College’s e-learning strategy through our TEL Group. You will act as the College awarding body nominee and work closely with the Vice Principal and SMT to support quality reviews and support SAR curriculum panels. This role is pivotal to the development of teaching and learning as we move forward to meeting the needs of our students in new learning environments and equip them, and our teachers, with the skills required to realise their capabilities.

About you:

With appropriate experience and qualifications reflecting a strong background in quality assurance in education, you will have a teaching qualification and the drive to deliver improvements in teaching and learning. You will have a history of managing quality systems relevant to our College activities and proven success in leading quality review visits from external agencies and stakeholders. You must have the ability to communicate with managers, teachers, support staff students and to motivate and support them in their development.

Westminster Kingsway College is a further education college in central London with centres in Camden and Westminster. It also offers bespoke training for employers and specialist programmes delivered in conjunction with the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.
