An exciting opportunity for a part time Music Leader / Director of Music teacher, required from September 2024, to work in our wonderful and nurturing independent prep school in Thames Ditton, Surrey.

Are you an experienced music teacher? Do you have enthusiasm, and energy to lead the provision for music, as part of our supportive and friendly team, in an inspiring school environment?

Weston Green School is a 2 form entry independent preparatory school, from 2-11, situated in Thames Ditton, Surrey. Our school is a special place where children grow and thrive to become independent and confident young people, who achieve exceptionally well but also enjoy their experiences immensely and develop a life-long love of learning.

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, organised, creative and knowledgeable Director of Music to join our exceptional team.  The role is for 18.5 hours per week, with flexibility over the days worked, and will involve leading music teaching and provision across our Lower and Upper Prep from Years 1 - 6. The focus will be on teaching classes, and developing the children’s extra curricular experiences through choirs and an orchestra and supporting productions and performances across the school. Liaison with and management of the Peripatetic instrumental teachers forms part of the role too. This is a permanent role for the appointed candidate.

The right candidate will be an outstanding practitioner who consistently delivers imaginative and interactive lessons and can demonstrate commitment and passion for leading and developing music in our school. We also have many children who are learning instruments and who excel with our support in and beyond school.

Salary: Dependent on experience
