Start date: asap

Hours: 12.5 per week (Monday to Friday, 11:30am - 2:00pm), term time only excludingINSET days 

Salary (FTE): £24,796 per annum

Salary (Actual): £7,020.62 per annum

Contract: Fixed-term until 31 August 2027, subject to review based on the school’s budget, kitchen provision, and meal uptake levels.

 The Role

Are you looking for a rewarding role that fits around your day? We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team and to help provide healthy, enjoyable meals for our pupils.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and wants to make a real difference to the school day for children.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working in a catering, kitchen or fast-paced service environment
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team 
  • Can support the preparation and serving of food
  • Is flexible and able to adapt to support a smooth and efficient lunch service 
  • Maintains a calm and positive approach when working with children 
  • Communicates well with pupils, staff and visitors
  • Understands the importance of hygiene, health and safety standards
  • Is friendly, approachable and takes pride in their work
  • Shares the school’s vision and values

Fluency Duty

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
