William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS) is a well-established 3-18 Academy and is one of the most over-subscribed schools in Greater Manchester with a long and distinguished history. WHGS is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and committed Exam Invigilators on a casual contract basis.

Reporting to the Exams Officer, the main duties will include the following (also see Job Description)

To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and William Hulme’s Grammar School regulations and instructions

To have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination/assessment process

The role requires excellent customer service skills including effective communication skills, a confident communicator, comfortable working under pressure and multi-tasking, and who will be able to enforce regulations firmly, but fairly if necessary and to deal effectively and promptly with any problems. Flexibility, reliability and an eye for detail are essential.

Experience of working in the education sector would be beneficial, but not essential.

Exams are taken at various times during the academic year so please note that these positions are seasonal. There are no guaranteed hours, which means you will be working on a casual ad-hoc basis. Working days and hours are flexible. You will need to be reliable and punctual during the exam periods and have good availability. A professional appearance at all examinations is required.

The hourly rate of pay is £12.48.
