We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic Caretaker to join our team.
William Cobbett Primary School is a thriving school in the north of Farnham, Surrey, with 500+ pupils on roll. The school is set out over two sites which share a boundary and has excellent facilities and grounds. We also have an ASD Centre, with inclusion being a very important part of school life.
We are looking for a cheerful, flexible team member to assist in upholding a high level of maintenance of the buildings and site to minimise the risks to the health and safety of those using the school site. The post holder will be responsible, under the direction of the Premises Manager, for the effective management of repairs and improvements, monitoring contractors on site and inspecting completed work. They will also be required to oversee the arrangement, removal or relocation of office and general school furniture and equipment as necessary, paying due attention to manual handling safe practices and maintenance of safe access/exit routes and walkways around the various halls, offices and classrooms. Purchasing arrangements, collecting, receiving and distributing deliveries of goods around the site will need to be effectively managed, maximising resources whilst minimising time and effort where possible. The post holder will monitor the effectiveness of the contract cleaners through daily checks, ensuring that standards do not fall below an acceptable level. All outside areas need to be kept clean and litter-free. They will also be expected to carry out emergency cleaning as required.
Hours for this position are:
Monday to Friday from 07.00 - 08.30 and 17.00 - 18.30 (can be negotiated)
