Inclusion Lead (Maternity Cover)

William Cobbett Primary School is a thriving school in the north of Farnham, Surrey with 510 pupils on roll. The school is set out over two sites which share a boundary and has excellent facilities and grounds. We also have an ASD Centre with inclusion being an essential part of school life.

We are looking to appoint a part-time maternity cover SENDCO (Mondays and Tuesdays).  This is a non-class-based role.

The Senco will be an excellent primary teacher, with strong knowledge of supporting children with SEND across the primary age range. They will have accountability for meeting statutory responsibilities and monitoring provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and promoting good behaviour across the school with the ambition that all children make good progress from their starting points. Experience of Surrey LA SEND processes would be an advantage but is not essential.

Alongside the Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning), the SENDCO will have responsibility for ensuring high-quality teaching across the school. The role is non-class based, but will include some team-teaching at times to model good practice to support training and development.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), they will be involved in strategic planning and the operational management of the School. They will also have some line management responsibility for mainstream Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).

The school reserves the right to interview any suitable applicants prior to the closing date.
