Are you interested in teaching a class of infant age neurodiverse children who have great enthusiasm, a sense of fun, and the ability to integrate into mainstream classes? We are looking for a confident, adaptable, enthusiastic teacher from Sept 2025 (or as soon after as possible).
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a teacher in the well-equipped and supported Woodlands Centre (High COIN) attached to our school. You will teach the infant curriculum subjects and social skills to children with autism and fully participate in the life and varied activities of our Centre. You will need to be dynamic, forward looking, calm and flexible with a positive approach to behaviour management and to working in a team.

• Managing ASD behaviours, speech and language issues, physical difficulties, use of Makaton or use of the TEACHH approach. An interest in these areas is essential.
• Teaching experience at Reception, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
We can offer you: a very dynamic and supportive team, enthusiastic children, a high ratio of Special Needs Assistants, excellent professional development opportunities and a carefully planned and resourced curriculum.
We need a good practitioner with: commitment, a sense of humour, high expectations of the children, a creative approach to teaching and flexibility.
Key responsibilities are expected to involve, but are not limited to:
• Classroom teaching
• Managing behaviours
• Curriculum development
• Liaising with parents and therapists
• Staff team meetings
• Managing teaching assistants
If you have an interest in SEN and a passion for inclusive practice, you are invited to apply for this role.
This is a full-time vacancy.
