We are currently looking for a Teacher of English who can bring commitment and expertise to our curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages. The department is highly regarded, enjoys strong links with the UCL Institute of Education and offers an ambitious, creative and rich curriculum that has been carefully constructed around the needs and motivations of our students in an all boys' 11-16 context. There is a range of experience in the department and the successful candidate would be joining a strong and supportive team of teachers and leaders who have a track record of supporting high attainment at GSCE and A Level. You would have the opportunity to work with students across the attainment range, including GCSE and A Level classes, and would be supported in your professional development whatever your stage of teaching career.
The role is open to ECTs and experienced teachers who are able to offer some curriculum leadership for a curriculum area or Key Stage. Please indicate in your application any skills or experience that would enable us to consider you for this.
The successful candidate will be:
- A highly motivated and inspirational classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge
- Committed to maximising pupil progress through setting high standards and by delivering effective teaching and learning
- Able to motivate, lead, support and challenge students to be successful
The ability and willingness to teach Film Studies to A Level would be an advantage.
