Role: Teacher of Geography (ability to teach at least one other humanities subject would be an advantage)

Salary: Main/Upper Pay Scale (Inner London) - TLR available for the right candidate

About the School 

William Ellis School is a thriving, voluntary aided, non-denominational, inclusive comprehensive boys’ school serving the educational needs of boys from the ages of 11 to 18. About the role 

We are looking for a Geography Teacher who can bring commitment and expertise to our curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages. You would have the opportunity to work with students across the attainment range and would be supported in your professional development whatever your stage of teaching career. The geography Department makes particular use of the school’s Outdoor Education Centre, The Mill, for field work and enrichment opportunities. Outdoor Education is a distinctive and important part of the life of the school. The Geography and Languages departments have worked closely together to innovative projects further afield. 

 You would be joining a wider team of well-qualified and established humanities teachers who are highly ambitious for the students. Teaching across the team is excellent demonstrated through student outcomes and high take-up at GCSE and A Level. Humanities subjects are very strongly supported by the Headteacher and the Leadership Team. 

The successful candidate will be: 

  • A highly motivated and inspirational classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge 
  • Committed to maximising pupil progress through setting high standards and by delivering effective teaching and learning 
  • Able to motivate, lead, support and challenge students to be successful  

The role is open to ECTs and experienced teachers who are able to offer some curriculum leadership for a curriculum area or Key Stage. Please indicate in your application any skills or experience that would enable us to consider you for this.
