JOB OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Wimbledon College. Duties include covering a variety of classes and subjects where work will be set for students in the teacher's absence. Your role will be to ensure that work is completed whilst managing the behaviour according to our school policy. The ability to support sports related activities will be an advantage. When not providing student supervision you will be providing support for teachers in their daily work such as assisting with preparation of resources, setting up classroom displays and general administration support for a department or faculty.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • To undertake cover, providing classroom supervision in the absence of a teacher
  • To lead sport and activity sessions
  • Working with a wide range of teachers to deliver resources for teaching and learning.
  • Accompanying groups on trips.
  • Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
  • Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
  • Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

 

WHAT WE OFFER:

Salary £22,527- £23,767p.a.

35 hours per week / 40 weeks per year - Term time plus 10 days

(Based on NJC scale 5 point 12-15 £25,137-26,520 p.a. FTE)

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
  • Have good behaviour management skills
  • Have experience of working in a school environment
  • Have good communication skills and have an ability to explain instructions clearly

This role would ideally suit a graduate who is seeking some experience in working with young people in schools as a foundation for future teacher training applications.
