Computer Science Teacher (permanent, full or part-time contract from 0.4FTE)

Salary: Teacher Main/Upper Scale £31,650-£49,084 p.a. pro rata (depending upon experience)

Start date: September 2025

Are you an inspirational Computer Science teacher looking for a new teaching challenge? Winchcombe School (part of the Balcarras Trust) is looking for a new colleague to join our Science and Computer Science department from September 2025 as our school continues to expand. You’ll be enthusiastic and able to motivate students to achieve their best.

We will consider applications from ECTs as well as more experienced teachers; if you are in the latter category, there may be a TLR available if you wish to take on a Lead teacher role. Please indicate in your application if this is of interest and your preferred FTE if part-time.

Winchcombe School is part of the Balcarras Trust, which we joined in November 2023. We are a friendly co-educational comprehensive school of just over 500 students aged 11-16 located on the outskirts of a historic town near Cheltenham and surrounded by beautiful Cotswold views. We were fortunate to undergo a multi-million-pound refurbishment in 2021, including a new Science laboratory, as well as a fantastic sports centre and improvements to our D&T classrooms.

Ofsted graded us as a ‘Good’ school in all areas in March 2022, praising our high expectations, students’ calm and purposeful behaviour and professional development for staff. Our recent GCSE results have been particularly impressive. You’ll find that we’re a welcoming and supportive team. Come to visit us and find out for yourself!

We can offer you:

• An exceptional and friendly working environment

• Continued professional development

• The opportunity to work for an experienced leadership team and successful Trust

• Employee Support Helpline

• Cycle to Work scheme; free parking on site and electric charging points

• Teachers’ Pension enrolment

Do you have what it takes to help the school towards its goal of being outstanding and to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential? If yes, then we would love to hear from you.

You are very welcome to visit the school before submitting your application – please email the personnel team at Winchcombe School to arrange a suitable date/time.

To apply: Please email your application (standard Balcarras Trust form) together with a covering email/letter to Winchcombe School personnel team.
