Hours: Part Time, (35 hours per week/ 5 days) Term time only, plus 5 inset days
Additional role info: Working Pattern - Ideally Monday to Wednesday 8:30-3:30pm, Thursday 7-3:30pm and Friday 7-3pm. However, we may be flexible on days/hours.

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join our supportive and talented team at Bristol Metropolitan Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.
To be successful in the post, we are looking for a Cover Supervisor who will supervise whole classes and/or small groups during the short-term absence of the timetabled class teacher, whether planned or un-planned absence. Ensure students carry out the curriculum tasks set by the absent teacher, assisting them to understand the nature of the work set, managing student behaviour and minimising the impact of the teacher’s absence on their learning. In addition, on two days, we will train you to use the cover system to administer cover in the morning.
About you:
You will:
• be able to safely manage classroom activities, the physical learning space and classroom resources.
• happily supervise specific classes or other appropriate tasks as directed by the member of staff responsible for organising cover, work collaboratively to ensure lessons are adequately covered.
• establish productive working relationships with teaching staff, pass on work completed and provide useful feedback upon the teacher’s return regarding the progress of the students during the lesson and report any significant information to assist continuity of teaching provision for that class.
• have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and how a cover supervisor supports students in their learning.
• be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a small group/ whole class basis.
• have good planning and organisational skills, specifically with regard to learning activities and support materials.

Bristol Metropolitan Academy (Bristol Met) is an over-subscribed secondary school based in Fishponds, Bristol. It is characterised by energy, enthusiasm and a strong sense of community.
