We are looking for an energetic, highly organised and commercially minded Admissions Registrar to lead this experience at school level. This is a pivotal role: the successful candidate will manage the full admissions pipeline, build strong relationships with prospective families, and play a direct role in achieving the school’s pupil recruitment targets.
Purpose of the Role
The Admissions Registrar is responsible, alongside the Head and SLT, for:
- Delivering the school’s pupil recruitment targets
- Managing and optimising the end-to-end admissions journey
- Maximising enquiry-to-pupil conversion at every stage of the funnel
- Providing a warm, responsive and professional experience for all prospective families
- Maintaining accurate admissions data and using it to drive performance
This is a results-focused role, combining strong relationship management with strong operational delivery and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Admissions Leadership & Pipeline Management
- Work closely with the Head and SLT to deliver agreed pupil number targets
- Take ownership of the full admissions pipeline from initial enquiry to enrolment
- Contribute to forecasting and planning based on pipeline data
Enquiry Management & Conversion
- Act as the first point of contact for all prospective families, delivering a warm, proactive and professional response at all times
- Build strong relationships with families, understanding their needs and motivations
- Lead families confidently through the admissions journey, addressing queries and overcoming barriers to enrolment
Admissions Experience
- Design and deliver a high-quality, personalised experience for every prospective family
- Organise and manage school tours, open events, taster days, and assessments
- Ensure all visits create a positive, memorable impression that differentiates the school from competitors
Admissions Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the school’s admissions database
- Prepare and issue offer letters, contracts, and joining information
- Ensure all processes are compliant with regulatory, safeguarding, and data protection requirements, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information
Data & Reporting
- Track and analyse key metrics including enquiries, visits, offers, acceptances and conversion rates
- Provide regular, clear reporting to the Head and SLT
- Identify trends, gaps and opportunities within the admissions funnel
Events & Engagement
- Lead the planning and delivery of admissions events, including open days and taster sessions
- Follow up effectively with attendees to maximise outcomes
- Support initiatives that strengthen engagement with prospective families
Wider Contribution
- Support inspections, governance visits, and reporting requirements as needed
- Contribute positively to the wider life and culture of the school
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and Wishford group
Person Specification
Skills & Experience
- Experience in admissions, sales, customer experience, or a similar role (education desirable)
- Proven ability to manage a pipeline and deliver against targets
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent administrative accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident use of databases/CRM systems
