We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Deputy Head Pastoral to join our Senior Leadership Team and share responsibility for the development and oversight of the school. The successful candidate will be a talented teacher with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of successful leadership and a particular aptitude for the following:
- Building relationships with pupils, parents, staff and partner agencies.
- Taking responsibility for compliance with relevant guidance and legislation.
- Managing difficult decisions.
The successful candidate will act as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and be expected to take on teaching responsibilities.
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Contract: Full-time, permanent contract.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
Start Date: January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and partner organisations.
- Confidence in teaching children across the primary age range.
- The ability to learn, understand and apply relevant compliance requirements from government guidance and legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent standards of written and spoken English
- Enthusiasm, approachability, and a genuine commitment to pupils’ development.
- The ability to communicate sensitively around complex issues and hold potentially difficult conversations.
- Commitment to teamwork and contributing positively to school life.
- Respect for confidentiality and commitment to upholding school values.
- Adaptability in the face of changing demands.
- Strong IT skills and confidence with the Microsoft suite of tools.
