We are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Room Leader to join our friendly Nursery team at an exciting time as we increase our Early Years provision from term time only to a full time Nursery provision providing care from babies through to Pre-school.
The successful candidate will ideally have a Level 3 in Early Years Education and should be experienced in planning inspiring activities for children to explore and enjoy.
They will be able to demonstrate a track record of high-quality teaching and supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The role is a full time, year round role and will initially be in our current Nursery room working with children aged 2-4 years.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Hours: 40 hours per week, year-round. Permanent role.
Salary: £14.50 - £14.90 per hour
£30,160.00 - £30,992.00 pa depending on experience and qualifications

Job Description:
Your main responsibilities will be:
- To lead a room on a daily basis, delivering high quality and engaging activities following the Early Years Curriculum
- To provide a safe, friendly, stimulating environment in which the pupils can flourish.
- To prepare daily planning in accordance with children’s interests and next steps
- To evaluate learning retrospectively in order to inform future planning.
- To review long term planning to meet the needs of the children in your care
- To assess and record pupils' progress
- To liaise with the Nursery Manager and SENDCo regarding any children with specific needs. As required, liaise with parents and other schools/agencies involved
- Each team member has responsibility for the presentation of their room and the Nursery’s shared environments
- To lead termly parent evenings including supporting to update next steps for child’s development
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will:
- Have a level 3 qualification in Early Years Education
- Have previous experience working in an early years setting, ideally with knowledge across the full age range (3 months to 5 years)
- Have passion for caring for, or working with children aged 0-5
- Have a thorough knowledge of the EYFS Framework and to implement your knowledge in the development of the children
- Be a confident communicator with excellent listening skills
- Have a passion for delivering fun and creative activities suitable for early education
- Have a positive, hard-working, can-do attitude
- Have a positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities
- Be willing to develop imaginative ideas
- Be enthusiastic about the benefits of learning outdoors
- Be able to deal with sensitive issues and confidential information
- Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the Nursery’s ethos is fulfilled
- Take responsibility for the children and staff working in your room and acting as a positive role-model and mentor.
- Be flexible to occasionally work outside of normal working hours (Parent Open Days)
- Have knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, child protection and child development
- Have experience or an understanding of key worker principles and experience of recording evidence and observations
- Have a knowledge of the National Standards for the regulation of childcare provision
