A unique opportunity has been presented through the creation of a brand new post of “Inclusion Room Manager” that will be operating at St Augustine Academy.
St Augustine Academy seeks to appoint an experienced Behaviour Manager who possesses the emotional and mental dexterity to work alongside the leadership team to deal with behavioural, pastoral and welfare issues. The successful candidate will firstly run the ‘Inclusion Room’ at the academy, supported by other colleagues, and secondly plan and lead intervention programmes that will support the academy both with reducing the number of repeat students referred to the inclusion room and also in reducing the number of Fixed Term Suspensions at the Academy.
The successful candidates will have the necessary skills required to develop strong, purposeful and respectful professional relationships with the students and their families which are firmly focused on improving educational opportunities.
The new ‘Inclusion Room’, will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to shape the role and have a positive impact on the academic and social progress of students who, in some cases, are currently finding it a challenge to succeed in school. The ‘Internal Inclusion Room’ will have two key functions:

The work carried out by our pastoral teams is of vital importance as it aims to ensure that these goals are met by all of our students. In collaboration with the pastoral teams, professionals and external agencies the inclusion room manager will support some of our most vulnerable students by developing bespoke programmes which will aim to support our students to succeed in school life; helping them to self-regulate and prepare them academically and emotionally for the challenges they will face both inside the mainstream classroom, and in the world beyond.
The successful candidates will report directly to the Vice Principal responsible for Behaviour and will have a creative and innovative approach to their area of work as well as an ability to embrace and promote change. They will understand the importance of their work not only from the context of supporting the academy on its journey of school improvement but also the potential far reaching positive impact on students and their families beyond their time at St Augustine Academy.
The Inclusion Room Manager will need to:
WAT Salary Grade F:- pt 15-20 £22,159 - £24,294 (FTE £25,878 - £28,371)
This role is for a one year contract in the first instance, with a possibility or making it permanent in the future.
