Polam Hall School are seeking an experienced and/or trained Site Operative who is reliable, flexible, friendly and approachable to work as part of a team supporting a large school site. The successful applicant will need to be resilient, motivated and have a can do attitude.
To work as directed by the Site Manager and with the wider Site Team to provide effective site support in the maintenance of school buildings and resources including security, lettings, cleaning, grounds maintenance, minor repairs, routine maintenance, pre-planned maintenance and risk assessments.
Responsible to: Site Manager
Liaising with: Site Manager, Operations Manager, Site Team, Teaching and Support Staff across school.
• To support planned maintenance and improvement plans across the school site.
• To ensure the buildings and site are secure and to facilitate lettings.
• To undertake basic repair and maintenance duties and report any hazards.
• To undertake car-parking duties, ensuring the safety of all users whilst adhering to controls in place.
• Undertake regular testing including legionella, emergency lighting and fire doors.
The successful applicant should be prepared to work flexibly to assist in school lettings and events and to be part of the on call rota in the event of an alarm activation.
Polam Hall School is a 4 – 16 all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust. We have 750 pupils on roll, with two forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase. Polam Hall is a school with a unique and long history, which today is proud to be a fully comprehensive school, rated Good by Ofsted in October 2021, serving the young people of Darlington.
