Assistant Head Teacher

We are currently seeking to appoint a committed and talented Assistant Head Teacher with a passion for inclusion within primary education to work across all of our schools. The successful candidate will bring their strengths and passion for inclusion into the Trust Development Team and will work with the schools to support and develop colleagues using their skills, knowledge and specialism.

The successful candidate will be responsible the development of inclusion practices within our schools and will work collaboratively across all of the inclusion teams to share best practice, develop skills and knowledge in relation to inclusion.

The post holder will have experience with completing applications for high needs funding and education, health and care plans (EHCP) and with working with local authority teams to ensure children have access to the support they need. The candidate will also have a working knowledge and experience of safeguarding and working with children with additional needs. We are looking for applicants that are not only secure in their knowledge of inclusion, but also in how to role model this and develop staff to support their knowledge and skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with the other members of the leadership team to provide the highest quality inclusive education throughout our schools. The role requires a real passion for working with children and excellent leadership skills to support staff in raising standards within the schools.

The post is full time on a fixed term contract from 1st September 2021 until 31st August 2022. The successful candidate will be required to travel to all  schools within the Trust.  Interviews will take place on 7th May 2021.

What you will need to succeed:

• QTS or relevant teaching qualification such as EYPS and excellent knowledge and experience of teaching

• Passion and dedication to the profession

• Secure knowledge of inclusion, safeguarding and supporting children with additional needs in primary schools

• High expectations for behaviour and learning

• Ability to work well and collaborate with colleagues, as well as the ability to motivate others and get the best out of them

• Ability to take initiative as well as good planning and organisational skills

• Understanding of whole child development
