Woodlands School is an outstanding special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years of age with severe or profound learning difficulties. Some pupils also have complex medical needs or autism.
We are currently looking to appoint a Part-Time Teacher (2.5/3 days per week) to lead our Early Years class. Initially the post will be for the Autumn term 2023, however there is a possibility for the role to be extended. They will need knowledge, experience or an interest in special education and working with pupils who have complex needs. Applications are welcome from teachers with primary or secondary experience, who are able to teach a wide range of subjects to pupils at the earliest levels of learning.
At Woodlands we have high aspirations for our pupils and keep up-to-date with innovative teaching strategies and technology to support our pupils to access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
It is likely that the successful candidate will have recent, relevant experience of working with young people with severe learning difficulties, physical or sensory impairment, behavioural difficulties or autism. We would welcome applications from:
- Experienced SEN teachers/Qualified Early Years Practitioners
- ECTs/NQTs with previous SEN experience
- Teachers currently working in mainstream schools who are keen to pursue a career in special education
Our pupils say "Come and work with us! Woodlands School is the best. We like to work hard and have fun. We would like someone nice, helpful and caring. We like happy, smiley staff".
If you think you might be interested in this exciting opportunity then we look forward to hearing from you.
Interviews will be held on 6th July 2023.
