We are seeking to appoint an efficient, friendly and dynamic member of staff to join our very effective and highly valued Pastoral Team to start at the beginning of the autumn term 2026.
Candidates should ideally have experience of working in an environment with young people, and have excellent communication skills and a good level of education. The ability to build good relationships with staff and students is essential. A high level of confidentiality will also apply to this role.
The role will involve working closely with the Heads of Year and Assistant Heads of Year who work to support students with their academic progress, their behaviour for learning, and their pastoral support and wellbeing. This is a varied role and will involve providing administrative support to the pastoral team, such as keeping student records up to date, logging rewards and sanctions, producing reports on rewards and sanctions for the team as required, along with writing letters and producing end of term celebration certificates for students. There will also be some liaison with other staff, parents and sometimes external agencies in order to make appointments for meetings etc.
We are very much looking someone who will be willing to be an integral member of this busy team. We require someone who will be available for 34.15 hours over 5 days per week, term time only (39 weeks, 8:30am to 4:00pm with a 40-minute unpaid lunch break).
The successful candidate will:
• Care deeply and have high ambitions for every one of our students
• Be flexible and adaptable
• Ideally have some experience of working with young people in a school or other setting
• Be organised, efficient and competent with Microsoft Office packages and quick to learn new software (e.g. Arbor, our MIS system).
This post holder will join a busy pastoral team and will form part of our wider Student Support Team, which includes the Welfare Team and Learning Support team. We have an excellent team of associate staff and teachers across the school and our students are a delight to work with.
Woolmer Hill is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and equality and diversity in all aspects of employment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
