St Alban’s Catholic Primary School is seeking a committed, caring, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our welcoming and dedicated team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs within a nurturing and inclusive Catholic school community. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCo, you will provide high-quality 1:1 classroom support, helping to ensure every child can access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Contract: Term Time Only, permanent
Contracted Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm, total of 32.5 hours, 39 weeks per year
Salary Scale: PS3 £24,330 FTE, actual/pro rata salary £18,897.39 pa (subject to support staff pay review)
The successful candidate will:
- have experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
- have awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
- be compassionate and dedicated to provide one-on-one support to a student with EHCPs
- have the ability to work as part of the team as well as through their initiative
- make a notable impact on the quality of learning in a lesson
- be flexible, adaptable, patient and be a good team player
- possess good literacy and numeracy skills
- maintain confidentiality inside and outside of the school
