St John the Baptist School is seeking to appoint an outstanding primary trained specialist who is looking for a new and exciting challenge supporting Year 7 students with their transition to secondary school.
This brand new middle leadership role is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated, skilled practitioner who is ready to take on further responsibility. We are looking for someone who is eager to develop their own practice in an environment that is both supportive and at the cutting edge of pedagogy and practice. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching children, particularly those with additional learning needs; the ability to inspire students; and the desire to go the extra mile to help our students with their transition to secondary school so that they can thrive and go on to achieve their potential.
The Head of Transition will be responsible for planning and delivering the curriculum as well as the achievement of the children in the transition group/s. They will be part of the school’s Middle Leadership Team, line managed by the Deputy Head i/c curriculum and will be given additional non-contact time in the first year to provide time for curriculum planning. The successful candidate will be very well supported and have access to significant future professional development opportunities.
