Midday Supervisor

We are seeking enthusiastic midday supervisors to become part of our wonderful school community.

You will need to be a hard-working team player, willing to pitch in and use your initiative and, most importantly, enjoy working with children. This role would particularly suit a parent looking to work part time in a way that fits around school hours or a grandparent wishing to continue to work a few rewarding hours per week.

Roles & Responsibilities during Lunchtime:

• Supporting the children throughout their lunchtime
• Supervising and assisting them within the hall, providing practical help, promoting good manners, and encouraging children to eat well.
• Assisting in the smooth running of the hall during the dinner service. This includes some clearing and wiping of tables, as well as dealing with any spills or accidents as they occur, and may include some setting up or tidying away of equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities on the Playground: 

• Responsible for the safety and security of the children as part of a mini-team of MDS and TA colleagues
• Monitoring the movement of children between their classrooms, dining hall, playground and toilets
• Simple first aid such as applying plasters for grazes
• Promoting and supporting good behaviour, including intervening where necessary for the safety of the children
• Empathetically supporting and assisting children with any worries or difficulties they might be having and communicating this with other relevant adults. In these responsibilities, you will be ably supported by the Senior Leadership Team for behaviour and the main office for first aid.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Need to have good verbal communication skills with both adults and children
• Be empathetic to the needs of all children, including those with special educational needs and enjoy working as part of a team
• You will need to be willing to be on your feet and bending to child-level for 1.5 hours

This is a part time position of 11.30am - 1.00pm or 11.45am - 1.15pm daily. The post is a permanent position (38 weeks per year), 7.5 hours per week. The salary (FTE) is £20,733 (pro rata); the actual salary range £3,620 - £3,686.
