A very warm welcome to Yeovil College and thank you for taking the time to find out more about our amazing college. Deciding upon your next destination is both an exciting and important decision as it should provide the springboard for your future career, and I hope that you will decide that our wonderful college can help you achieve your ambitions.

Our campus is an open, safe, welcoming and an extremely supportive space. We provide learners with the encouragement and confidence to develop and succeed at a pace which is appropriate to each individual. We are supportive rather than prescriptive, enabling students to develop to be the best they can, with the help they need, when they need it.

We are a vibrant college community where our number one priority is to maximise the potential of each and every one of our learners, providing them with the right skills, knowledge and behaviours to support them during their career journeys. You will discover that Yeovil College is a positive, aspirational and inclusive place to learn and grow, making it a brilliant starting point for our students.

Once here, you will have opportunity to progress with us, whether that is onto an apprenticeship, to our University Centre or to enhance your skills with a further programme of study. Whether your career commences in six months or six years from your starting point with us, we believe we should provide you with a clear line of sight to your career and accelerate you towards it.

You will benefit from expert tutors, first-class facilities, an environment which is undergoing significant investment and transformation and real work experience opportunities. We are placed as the top performing college in Somerset for all 16-18 year olds, measured by the key indicator, achievement rates, for the second consecutive year. This means that your future is secure no matter which level or programme you study with us.

This is an exciting time to be a student looking at their future and I look forward to helping you make the right decision to support a positive career.

About Us

Yeovil College has been serving the community in and around Yeovil for more than 130 years.

The College was first formed in 1887 when Somerset County Council began formally organising Science and Art classes in Yeovil. In 1947, the first Principal was appointed to lead Yeovil Technical College and when secondary education in the Yeovil Borough was reorganised in 1974, Yeovil College became one of the early tertiary colleges to be formed in England.

Today, Yeovil College remains passionate about its role as a key provider of education and training in South Somerset and North and West Dorset. It remains committed to its role as a tertiary college for the whole community.
