Both schools are very pleased with many elements of their reports. Our Aims and Aspirations- "Growing And Learning Together". We are healthy and happy learners. We believe in ourselves and achieve our best. We are curious, enjoy challenges and aim high. We respect and care for each other. We work together and celebrate success. We care for our environment. Council Ward: Hengrove Parliamentary Constituency: Bristol South A Message from the Chair of GovernorsIn September 2007, the Infant and Junior schools federated to become the ‘Federation of Perry Court Schools’. There is now one governing body and one headteacher for both schools and we are committed to working evermore closely together! The Governors agree that the core aims of the school are as follows: · The school curriculum should aim to provide opportunities for all pupils to learn and to achieve. · The school should aim to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development and prepare all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life. The staff at Perry Court fulfil these aims through following the curriculum guidance for the Early Years and Foundation Stage (in the nursery class and the reception year) and implementing the National Curriculum and the locally agreed syllabus for RE in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Starting from the early years in the nursery class and continuing throughout both schools, the children are encouraged to develop caring attitudes towards each other and to respect each other's feelings. Staff help them to achieve positive attitudes and self-discipline in a safe and secure environment, with the aim of forming a sound basis for good social skills and future learning. The governors believe that children’s education needs to be broader than that which is legally required and supports the schools in their wider aims of offering pupils enrichment activities including educational visits beyond the school gates and drama and music performances within school. Throughout Perry Court, our staff welcome parental involvement both in the classroom and at home. By encouraging and supporting children in their learning and working in partnership with school staff and governors, we will together ensure that our children enjoy their school days and have the best possible chance to achieve their potential.Martyn Harris (Chair of Governors)
