What are Job Widgets?
A Job Widget is a section on a website displaying information from sources beyond the website upon which it sits. For example, your Eteach Job Widget can show the jobs you post to Eteach.com live on your very own website. This means potential candidates have a higher chance of seeing your current job adverts. The Job Widget will update automatically as you post job adverts on Eteach.com, meaning there is no additional administration of having to update your own website each time you post a new vacancy.
While you might not have quite as many visitors to your website as Eteach does, you will probably have a small and loyal following who would jump at the opportunity to work with you. Make sure this following can see your vacancies by adding a Job Widget to your website.
How do Job Widgets work?
If you have an Eteach Premium Licence you will have access to code that will allow you to add a Job Widget to any website you have access to edit. Job Widgets are sections of code which can be added anywhere to your website to pull information from other locations. Once you have added the Job Widget to your site, you will not have to update it or change it as it takes the information you need straight from Eteach.com. Set it up and watch it work; now your website can showcase all your vacancies in real-time with no extra work for you or your team.

Where can I use my Job Widget?
Today, most schools and academies have multiple digital platforms. You might have some (or possibly all) of the following:
- Your main website - where you showcase your school.
- Your Career Site - where you can showcase your school and vacancies to Eteach’s audience.
- Social media - such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn or others.
You can add your Job Widget to your main website and your Career Site. This will allow you to display your job vacancies on Eteach.com, your main website and your Career Site all at the same time. It does not affect how candidates apply to the vacancy; no matter where they apply from, you will see their application in the same way. So no matter where you share your Job Widget, your management style and how you process the applications does not need to change at all.
Unfortunately, your Job Widget is not applicable to social media. However, Eteach has made sharing your vacancies on social media as quick and easy as 3 clicks:
- On your live vacancy on Eteach.com click “Share Job” (just beneath the main info box of the listing).
- Click on the social media platform you want to share the job.
- Write a comment that will catch your followers’ attention and click Share.
How do I get my Job Widget?
In your Eteach Client Portal dashboard go to Settings and then in School Settings click on the Jobs Widget tab. Here you can see the automatically generated code (HTML) for your Job Widget. All you need to do is copy this code and paste it into your website’s own source code in the location you would like the Job Widget to appear.
If you are not happy doing this yourself, you can email this code to someone else to action it for you. This may be another member of your team or the developer that helps you maintain your website. You can toggle on or off the “Show search” option; this allows you to control whether you want your Job Widget to have a search bar. If you have a lot of vacancies to display on a regular basis, we advise you leave this feature on so potential candidates can search through all your vacancies. If you have only a few vacancies, you can toggle this option to off as with fewer vacancies, it is easier to see these all at once and the search bar will not be as helpful.
What about when I do not have any vacancies to display?
For times when you are not actively looking for new staff and you have no job adverts, you do not have to worry about removing the Job Widget from your website. The Job Widget will know that you have no live vacancies and it will display a message along the lines of “Sorry, We are not currently recruiting for any vacancies”. It will instead give visitors to your website the option to join your Talent Pool. Talent Pools are excellent ways for candidates to be alerted to vacancies for specific schools, areas or subjects and they also give you instant access to ideal candidates as soon as you start building your next vacancy.
If you do not have an Eteach Premium Licence then you will not have access to the Job Widget. You can get access the Job Widget and many more fantastic functionalities by getting in touch to set up your Eteach Premium Licence today or by upgrading your Eteach Lite Licence.
