What's new at Eteach?
Summer term is here, and we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes over the past few months, delivering improvements and updates across our Client Portal, Talent Pool, Job Board and more – all in aid of streamlining your hiring process even further.
Take a look at our newest featured updates below...
Talent Pool notifications
Talent Pools just got a big upgrade! Now you can choose to receive alerts whenever a candidate joins a school or group Talent Pool that you have access to. You can also customise the frequency of these notifications to suit your preferences - whether this is hourly, daily or weekly, or turned off altogether.
That’s not all – you can now view candidate job titles without logging in, making it even easier to see at a glance which candidates are suitable for you. Our Talent Pool updates enable you to be even more proactive with your recruitment, ensuring that you’re not letting any potential candidates slip through the net.
So what are you waiting for? Turn on your Talent Pool joiner notifications today!
Auto-disqualification of candidates with no right to work in the UK
Following feedback from customers who were receiving large quantities of overseas applicants, we’ve introduced a feature that gives our online application form customers based in the UK the ability to auto-disqualify candidates that state they have no right to work in the UK. When candidates are disqualified, you will still receive notification that they have applied, and they will be visible in the “Disqualified” section of your Recruiting Pipeline.
For schools that are able to offer working visas or sponsorship to international candidates, we’d recommend turning this off to keep your overseas applicants coming through.
SEO improvements
We’re constantly making improvements to our job board’s search engine optimisation to ensure your jobs are even more visible. Over the last few months we’ve improved your job’s visibility on the Google for Jobs platform, as well as to our job board’s organic search ranking – which means more candidate traffic and eyes on your vacancies, enabling candidates to find and apply for your roles with even more ease.

Pending team members
We’ve made some changes to “Pending” users (team members who have been invited to the Client Portal but haven’t yet accepted their invitation):
- Jobs can be published with pending users listed as an email address to forward the application to
- A pending user’s invitation expires after 72 hours, at which point their status shows as “Expired” in the invitations area on the “Team members” settings page, with the option to resend the invitation.
These changes make sure that recruitment doesn’t need to pause whilst users accept invitations, and you can carry on with your talent search in parallel.
Improvements to activity logs
Updates have been made to the activity logs within the Client Portal, with improved consistency and more actions being tracked (including updates to your Career Page or Career Site), ensuring you have a reliable audit trail for your records.
We've made a number of updates for our dual-language clients in Wales.
Welsh language improvements
- If a candidate completes their online application form in Welsh, they'll now be visible to you in the same language.
- Dual-language vacancies now have a dual-language safeguarding statement, allowing you to have an English and a Welsh version to demonstrate your school’s commitment to safeguarding.
For our Premium clients:
- A language toggle has been added to dual-language jobs, allowing candidates to view the job advert in either English or Welsh, just as they’re able to on the job board.
- The preliminary questions a candidate is asked before starting their application are now available in Welsh as well as English.
And for our Lite clients:
- Dual-language Career Pages are now in full operation, with the Welsh version of the Career Page pulling through when the Welsh language is selected.
These updates are part of our longer term project to improve the site functionality for our Welsh users, both customers and candidates, allowing for better communication and making it easier to both apply for and view applications.
Updated messaging to system emails
We’ve updated the messaging in the system email that sends to a candidate when you add them to your Recruiting Pipeline. The strapline on this email has been updated to read “You’ve been added as a candidate for consideration”, with a more general message to leave any additional correspondence that’s needed up to the school and candidate.
Updated placeholder design
Based on client feedback, the appearance of the placeholders wherever the email editor is opened has changed to make it clearer for the user that the placeholders will pull through dynamic text. An explanation label has been added to the form, and the design of these templates have been updated in line with other email templates.
Social sharing improvements
We’ve improved our social media sharing capabilities on the Client Portal and job board, allowing your vacancies to reach an even wider audience. This includes the option to share a job via WhatsApp (which our data shows is the most popular option for sharing on the job board). These are source tracked, so you’ll know exactly where your applications have come from.
Browser updates
Following issues caused by browser updates to Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, we’ve applied a fix to keep your browsing experience running smoothly.
Alongside these updates, we’ve also made a number of UI improvements and bug fixes, to ensure your recruitment and sourcing journey is as seamless as possible.
